Ques:- . One train leaves Bangalore at 15 kmp heading for Mysore. Another train leaves from Mysore at 20kmp heading for Bangalore on the same track. consider the tank capacity as 90 litres.
to fill the tank in 3 hrs first pipe must flow at a rate of 30 litres/hr
2nd pipe has to flow at a rate of 45 litres/hr
if two pipes are opened at a time the flow rate will become 75 litres/hr
90/75= 6/5 = 1.2= (i.e) 1hr and 12 minutes 1 1/5 hr

Ques:- A bus started from the bus stand at 8 Am and after staying 30 minutes at a destination return back to the bus stand. The Destination is 27 miles from the bus stand . The Speed of the bus is 18mph . In the return journey the bus travells with 50% fast speed.At what time it is return to the bus stand ?

Bus started at 8:00
it travelled with 18mph…
distance of destination is 27 miles…
we know velocity=(distance)/time
i.e., time=27/18hours=3/2hours=90 min…
i.e., the bus reached destination at 9:30
the bus stayed for 30 min…
so the bus started return journey at 10:00
now the bus returned with velocity 18 + (18/2)=27mph
the taken to the bus to travel = 27/27=1 hour = 60 min…
so bus would be returned on 11:00…

Ques:- You have 8 balls. One of them is defective and weighs less than others. You have a balance to measure balls against each other. In 2 weighings how do you find the defective one?

CASE 1: First we should take six balls divided equally and
then it is placed on the two pans.three on one and three on
other..
if the two pans are balanced then the defective ball is not
in the six..then we should the two and keep them one ball
on each.
CASE2: Again We should take any of the six balls and
divided equally and then it is placed on the two pans.. if
any of the pan weighs less than the other.. We should take
the three balls seperately..Now from that three we should
take any two and placed one on each.. fi both the pan
balances the ball which is left over is the defective.. if
one ball weighes less than the other,while keeping one on
each,then it is the defective one….

Assume there are 52 weeks in one year.
Since he supposed to have a new order for every two weeks, he
needs 52/2 = 26 orders to break the office record.

Now after 28 weeks,he has got only 28/2 -6 = 8 orders.

Hence,he needs 26-8 = 18 new orders in the remaining 24= 52-28 weeks to break the office record.

Compute 24 orders/18 weeks = 4/3 orders/week ,
we see that averagely he has a new order for
every 4/3 weeks in the remaining weeks to break the office record.
