(At the end of first hour, Y has 10 liters, second hour it has 20 liters and so on). If tank Y is 1/32 filled of the 21 hours, what is total duration of hours required to fill it completely?
Recent Answer : Added by Grace On 2020-11-25 15:02:28:

1/32(x)L=21h
10L=1h
X=21x10x32
=6720 Liters
Thus:
6720L=Yh
10L=1h
Yh=6720/10
Y=672h

Ques:- A bus started from the bus stand at 8 Am and after staying 30 minutes at a destination return back to the bus stand. The Destination is 27 miles from the bus stand . The Speed of the bus is 18mph . In the return journey the bus travells with 50% fast speed.At what time it is return to the bus stand ?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:00:34:

Bus started at 8:00
it travelled with 18mph…
distance of destination is 27 miles…
we know velocity=(distance)/time
i.e., time=27/18hours=3/2hours=90 min…
i.e., the bus reached destination at 9:30
the bus stayed for 30 min…
so the bus started return journey at 10:00
now the bus returned with velocity 18 + (18/2)=27mph
the taken to the bus to travel = 27/27=1 hour = 60 min…
so bus would be returned on 11:00…

Ques:- Which is better to grow plants in Rock sand or soil?
Ques:- If he sells 40 mangoes, he will get the selling price of 4 mangoes extra, What is his percentage increase in profit ?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:02:06:

I have seen a few say 25% as an answer to this. But looks
like their math isn’t good and is extremeley complex to
have an asnwer of 25% to this question. Consider – Rs.1.00/-
per mango; so 40 mangoes = Rs.40.00/-, implies Rs.4.00/-
extra at the end of the deal. So he’s left with Rs.44.00/-
after selling 40 mangoes implies a profit of Rs.4.00/- over
Rs.40.00 = 44/40 = 110% which means his profit is 10%.
Hope this helps…
Thanks.

Ques:- Find the four digit number in which the first digit is 1/3 of the second, the third is the sum of the first and second, and the last is three times the second.
Recent Answer : Added by Pankhudi Agarwal On 2020-10-02 05:47:29:

let the 4 digit number be ABCD.
First Digit is A :
Therefore; according to the question
A=B/3
B=3A
C=A+B=A+3A=4A
D=3B=3(3A)=9A
Since the last Digit is D and it can neither be double-digit nor 0 ;
Therefore ;
A=1;
B=3A=3(1)=3
C=A+B=1+3=4
D=9A=9(1)=9
Therefore, the 4 digit number is 1349.

Ques:- Five farmers have 7, 9, 11, 13 & 14 apple trees, respectively in their orchards. Last year, each of them discovered that every tree in their own orchard bore exactly the same number of apples. Further, if the third farmer gives one apple to the first, and the fifth gives three to each of the second and the fourth, they would all have exactly the same number of apples. What were the yields per tree in the orchards of the third and fourth farmers?
Recent Answer : Added by John Rony On 2021-06-23 17:56:01:

So we consider the 2nd statement first. We can form an equation out of it.
14x-6=13y+3=9z+3
Using this, we can understand that the multiple of 14 and the multiple of 13 and 9 must have a difference of 9. The easiest way to ensure that is multiplying it by 9
14*9=126
13*9=117
If the 5th farmer gives 3 apples to the 4th farmer, they would have 123 and 120 apples respectively. However, we also know that the 2nd farmer has 117 apples (13*9=117, and this is a multiple of 9) if the 5th farmer gives 3 apples too the 2nd farmer, the 3rd, 4th and 5th farmers would have 120 apples each.
Now that we got 120, we should check if the first part of the question makes sense along with it. The equation would be
7a+1=11b-1=120
We know that 11*11=121 and 7*17=119. When we add 1 to 119 and subtract 1 from 121, we get 120 for each. In this way, all the farmers have 120 apples each.
Therefore, the 3rd farmer had a yield of 11 per tree and the 4th farmer had a yield of 9 per tree.
