Ques:- Two trains are on same track and they are coming toward each other. The speed of first train is 50 KMs/h and the speed of second train is 70 KMs/h. A bee starts flying between the trains when the distance between two trains is 100 KMs. The bee first flies from first train to second train. Once it reaches the second train, it flies back to the second train ? and so on until trains collide. Calculate the total distance traveled by the bee. Speed of bee is 40 KMs/h. .

Answer: 66.67 km approx.

Solution:

Let the first train A move at u km/h.
Let the second train B move at v km/h.
Let the distance between two trains be d km
Let the speed of bee be b km/h
Therefore, the time taken by trains to collide = d/(u+v)
Now putting all the known values into the above equation, we get,

u = 50 km/hr
v = 70 km/hr
d = 100 km
b = 80 km/hr

Therfore, the total distance travelled by bee
= b*d/(u+v)
= 80 * 100/(50+70)
= 66.67 km (approx)

Ques:- Three men A,B,C can complete a work separately in some specified days(may be6,7,8).If they do the work together by alternate days. Then how many days need to complete the work?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:02:11:

Three man’s on day work = 1/6+1/7+1/8=73/168
three man’s can complete the work in 1/73/168 days
= 168/73 days
Now if they works together fro the alternet days they will
complete the worksin 2*168/73 days
(If three mans working for the alternate days then work
completion time will be doubbled)

Ques:- There is a 50m long army platoon marching ahead. The last person in the platoon wants to give a letter to the first person leading the platoon. So while the platoon is marching he runs ahead, reaches the first person and hands over the letter to him and without stopping he runs and comes back to his original position. In the mean time the whole platoon has moved ahead by 50m. The question is how much distance did the last person cover in that time. Assuming that he ran the whole distance with uniform speed.
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:00:37:

The last person covered 120.71 meters.
It is given that the platoon and the last person moved with
uniform speed. Also, they both moved for the identical
amount of time. Hence, the ratio of the distance they
covered – while person moving forward and backword – are
equal.
Let’s assume that when the last person reached the first
person, the platoon moved X meters forward.
Thus, while moving forward the last person moved (50+X)
meters whereas the platoon moved X meters.
Similarly, while moving back the last person moved [50-(50-
X)] X meters whereas the platoon moved (50-X) meters.
Now, as the ratios are equal,
(50+X)/X = X/(50-X)
(50+X)*(50-X) = X*X
Solving, X=35.355 meters
Thus, total distance covered by the last person
= (50+X) + X
= 2*X + 50
= 2*(35.355) + 50
= 120.71 meters
Note that at first glance, one might think that the total
distance covered by the last person is 100 meters, as he
ran the total lenght of the platoon (50 meters) twice.
TRUE, but that’s the relative distance covered by the last
person i.e. assuming that the platoon is stationary.

Numbers is less then 30 because 30 square is 900 we have to take three consecutive number if we take numbers greater than 30 the sum of that numbers wil be greater than 1460.
