Ques:- A train speeds past a pole in 15 seconds and a platform 100 m long in 25 seconds.What is Its length ?
Recent Answer : Added by Satwick On 2021-10-28 16:06:12:

Let’s say, length of train = x metres
Speed at pole = Speed at platform
x/15 = 100+x / 25
5x = 300 + 3x
2x = 300
x = 150m
So, train is 150 metres long.

Ques:- How long does a train 110 m long running at the speed of 72 km/hr takes to cross a bridge 132 m length?
Recent Answer : Added by AP On 2023-03-15 12:25:11:

Total distance to cover = 132 +110 = 242m

Ques:- Why should we select for our company?
Ques:- A polygon has maximum 1325 diagonals. How many vertices does it have?
Recent Answer : Added by DK BOSS On 2021-07-15 08:05:23:

The formula to find number of diagonals (D) given total number of vertices or sides (N) is

N * (N – 3)

D = ———–

2

Using the formula, we get
1325 * 2 = N * (N – 3)
N2 – 3N – 2650 = 0

Solving the quadratic equation, we get N = 53 or -50

It is obvious that answer is 53 as number of vertices can not be negative.

Alternatively, you can derive the formula as triange has 0 diagonals, quadrangel has 2, pentagon has 5, hexagon has 9 and so on……

Hence the series is 0, 0, 0, 2, 5, 9, 14, …….. (as diagram with 1,2 or 3 vertices will have 0 diagonals).

Using the series one can arrive to the formula given above.

Ques:- The inverse ratio of 3: 2: 1 is?
Recent Answer : Added by DK On 2022-03-09 16:28:53:

Ratio is 3:2:1

Total=6

Reverse of ratio is 1/3:1/2:1/1

Portion of first part is=1/3*6=>2

Portion of second part is=1/2*6=>3

Portion of third part is 1*6=>6

∴So the new ratio is 2:3:6

Ques:- Five farmers have 7, 9, 11, 13 & 14 apple trees, respectively in their orchards. Last year, each of them discovered that every tree in their own orchard bore exactly the same number of apples. Further, if the third farmer gives one apple to the first, and the fifth gives three to each of the second and the fourth, they would all have exactly the same number of apples. What were the yields per tree in the orchards of the third and fourth farmers?
Recent Answer : Added by John Rony On 2021-06-23 17:56:01:

So we consider the 2nd statement first. We can form an equation out of it.
14x-6=13y+3=9z+3
Using this, we can understand that the multiple of 14 and the multiple of 13 and 9 must have a difference of 9. The easiest way to ensure that is multiplying it by 9
14*9=126
13*9=117
If the 5th farmer gives 3 apples to the 4th farmer, they would have 123 and 120 apples respectively. However, we also know that the 2nd farmer has 117 apples (13*9=117, and this is a multiple of 9) if the 5th farmer gives 3 apples too the 2nd farmer, the 3rd, 4th and 5th farmers would have 120 apples each.
Now that we got 120, we should check if the first part of the question makes sense along with it. The equation would be
7a+1=11b-1=120
We know that 11*11=121 and 7*17=119. When we add 1 to 119 and subtract 1 from 121, we get 120 for each. In this way, all the farmers have 120 apples each.
Therefore, the 3rd farmer had a yield of 11 per tree and the 4th farmer had a yield of 9 per tree.

Ques:- A man was engaged on a job for 30 days on the condition that he would get a wage of Rs. 10 for the day he works, but he have to pay a fine of Rs. 2 for each day of his absence. If he gets Rs. 216 at the end, he was absent for work for … days.
Recent Answer : Added by Qhizer On 2021-08-11 07:22:47:

30 days of earning =300 rs
No of days he was absent = x

Equating the abv
300 – 10 x – 2 x = 216
After solving for x you will get 7days

Ques:- The price of sugar increases by 20%, by what % should a housewife reduce the consumption of sugar so that expenditure on sugar can be same as before ?(a) 15%(b) 16.66%(c) 12%(d) 9%
Recent Answer : Added by Rk On 2021-08-25 14:15:42:

(b) 16.66%

Earlier for ₹x we could purchase y gm of sugar.
Now we pay ₹1.2x for y gm of sugar

(As there was an increase in price so, x + 20%x = 1.2x)

At current rates for ₹x you can purchase y/1.2 gm of sugar

So the reduced consumption is y-(y/1.2)

Percentage change = (reduced consumption/ original consumption ) *100

That is (0.2/1.2) *100 = 16.66% (approx)

Ques:- A 5 litre jug contains 4 litres of a salt water solution that is 15 percent salt. If 1.5 litres of the solution spills out of the jug, and the jug is then filled to capacity with water, approximately what percent of the resulting solution in the jug is salt?
A. 7.5%
B. 9.5%
C. 10.5%
D. none
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:05:46:

5 litre jug contains 4 litres of salt water solution
with 15% of salt, that means it has 4000*.15 = 600 ml salt
in it.
If 1.5 litres solution is spills out, remaining solution
is 2.5 litres, then the salf content is 2500*.15 = 375ml.
Now, the jug is filled to full capacity with water i.e.,
now the jug has 5 litre solution in it.
Now, the salt content is 375/5000 = 7.5%
