16 chapatis* 6 Rs= 96
5 plates of rice * 45 Rs = 225
7 plates of mixed vegetable * 70 Rs = 490
6 ice-cream * ??

Ques:- if length of a rectangle is incr by 20% and width is decr by 20% then area
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 11:59:46:

we know,
area=b*h
b gets increased by 20% i.e (b+0.20b)
h gets decreased by 20% i.e (h-0.20h)
rewriting the equation(area=b*h),
area=(b+0.20b)*(h-0.20h)
area=b(1+0.20)*h(1-0.20)
area=b(1.20)*h(0.80)
area=b*h*(1.20)*(0.80)
area=b*h*(0.96)
i.e new area=0.96 times the original area
if 100% was the original area,it has decreased to 96%
so,100%-96%= 4%

Ques:- X and Y start a business jointly. X invests Rs.16000 for 8 months and Y remains in the business for 4 months. Out of the total profit Y claims 2/7th share. How much money is contributed by Y?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2022-09-29 18:33:42:

Let\: the\: total\: price \: be\: Rs. X\: then,

B= 2x/7 & A= \left ( x-2 \right )/7

So, A:B = 5x/7 : 2x/7 = 5 : 2

Let \: B’s \: capital\; be\: Rs.Y\: then\: \left ( 16000\ast 8 \right )/4y= 5/2

=> (16000\ast 8\ast 2)/(4\ast 5) = y

=> y = Rs. 12800

Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 11:59:42:

Friends,
The Answer given by ‘Gaurav Sharma’ is correct and
the approach (bottom to top) suggested by ‘Shailesh’ is
good. But with minor correction we can arrive the solution
using this approach:
After 5th loot, No. of breads left = 3
after 4th loot, no. of breads left = (3+0.5)x2 = 7
after 3rd loot, no. of breads left = (7+0.5)x2 = 15
after 2nd loot, no. of breads left = (15+0.5)x2 = 31
after 1st loot, no. of breads left = (31+0.5)x2 = 63
So, before 1st loot, no. of breads left = (63+0.5)x2 = 127
