Ques:- A certain sum amounts to Rs.1725 in 3 years and Rs.1875 in 5 years. Evaluate the rate % per annum?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2022-09-29 17:01:21:

A certain sum amounts to Rs. 1725 in 3 years

and amounts to Rs.1875 in 5 years

so interest of 2 years = 1875 -1725

= 150

so interest of 1 year = 75

so interest of 3 years = 75 × 3 =225 rs

so , Principal = Amount – SI

= 1725 – 225

= 1500 rs

now ,

S.I. = P × N × R /100

75 = 1500 × 1 × R /100

R = 75 / 15

R = 5%

Ques:- To 15 lts of water containing 20% alcohol, we add 5 lts of pure water. What is % alcohol.
Recent Answer : Added by Shashank Panddey On 2022-09-15 16:36:25:

saying 20%alcohol in 15 litre solution.

It means (20/100)*15=3 litres

Now 5 litre of water is added not alcohol.

So it means only the volume of solution is increases by 5 not alcohol.

It means 15+5=20

Now % of alcohol is

(3/20)*100=15%.

Ques:- a group of friends goes for dinner and gets bill of Rs 2400 . Two of them says that they have forgotten their purse so remaining make an extra contribution of Rs 100 to pay up the bill. Tell the no. of person in that group
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 11:59:54:

Let ‘x’ be the number of perons in the group and let ‘y’ be
amount per head which they have to pay.
Then xy = 2400.
or y = 2400/x
Since two friends have forget the purse, x-2 persons should
share the total amount(2400).
If they share, they have to make an extra contribution of
Rs 100 to pay up the bill
That is x-2 persons should pay y+100 each
or (x-2)(y+100) = 2400
or y+100 = 2400/(x-2)
or y = 2400/(x-2) – 100
Therefore we have got two equations namely,
y= 2400/x and y = 2400/(x-2) – 100
Comparing these two, we get
2400/x = 2400/(x-2) – 100
Solving this we get
x^2 – 2x -48 = 0
or (x-8) (x+6) = 0
or x = 8 or x = -6
Since ‘x’ denote the number of persons, it should be
positive.
So, x = 8.

Ques:- The following question asked at Infosys campus recruitment held at Pragathi. If 1>= y > x and xy=z.which of the following is not true? i)z>0 ii)x=z iii)y=z iv)z>y
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:01:07:

1>=y>x => y belongs to (-infinity,1]
x belongs to (-infinity,y)
if both x and y are negitive z can be greater than zero and
can be greater than y(1 and 4 are true)
if y equals 1 then x can be equal to z(2 is true)
therefore y=z is not true for any value of x and y
