Ques:- There are 6 couples (12 people). 4 people are selected at random. What is the probability that exactly one couple will be selected ?
Recent Answer : Added by An On 2022-09-15 16:37:14:

Prob(choosing two people who are a couple from 6 couples) = 1/6
We have 5 couple left (10 people)
Prob(choosing a person A from 10 people) = 1/10
Prob(choosing 1 person who is not a couple of A) = 1/8

Prob(choosing 4 people that has exactly one couple) = 1/6*1/8*1/10 = 0.0021

Ques:- A milk vendor has 2 cans of milk. The first contains 25% water and the rest milk. The second contains 50% water. How much milk should he mix from each of the containers so as to get 12 litres of milk such that the ratio of water to milk is 3 : 5?
A. 4 litres, 8 litres
B. 5 litres, 7 litres
C. 6 litres, 6 litres
D. 7 litres, 5 litres
Recent Answer : Added by Abdul On 2022-05-17 08:56:53:

Ans- 6,6 litres
Let x Litres from can1 (where, water = x/4 litres and milk = 3x/4 litres)
Now
12-x liters from can 2 ( where, water = 6-x/2, milk = 6-x/2)

Now given
water/milk = 3/5
0.25x+6-0.5x / 0.75 +6-0.5x = 3/5
6-0.25x/6+0.25 = 3/5
Solve it you get
x = 6 litres from can1
Then 12-x= 12-6=6 litres from can2

Ques:- If he sells 40 mangoes, he will get the selling price of 4 mangoes extra, What is his percentage increase in profit ?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:02:06:

I have seen a few say 25% as an answer to this. But looks
like their math isn’t good and is extremeley complex to
have an asnwer of 25% to this question. Consider – Rs.1.00/-
per mango; so 40 mangoes = Rs.40.00/-, implies Rs.4.00/-
extra at the end of the deal. So he’s left with Rs.44.00/-
after selling 40 mangoes implies a profit of Rs.4.00/- over
Rs.40.00 = 44/40 = 110% which means his profit is 10%.
Hope this helps…
Thanks.

Ques:- If the side of a square is increased by 25% what will be the percentage increase in the area?
Recent Answer : Added by Muhammad Azeem Sheikh On 2022-09-02 17:03:42:

56.25 % is the right answer.
area of square = side ^ 2
at first, it was 100% , means 1
then, a side was enlarged to 25%, means now, 125% means new side is 1.25
taking square will give 1.5625
1.5625 – 1 = 0.5625
so, 56.25% increment in area.

Ques:- You have two jars, 50 red marbles and 50 blue marbles. A jar will be picked at random, and then a marble will be picked from the jar. Placing all of the marbles in the jars, how can you maximize the chances of a red marble being picked? What are the exact odds of getting a red marble using your scheme?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:01:41:

put 1 red marble in one jar and all the rest (99) in the
other.
This gives you 50% from the first jar (if they pick that
jar they will get red 100% of the time). For the other jar
the chances are 49/99 or 49.494949%. Divide that by 2 and
its 24.7474%. Total odds are 50% plus 24.7474% = 74.7474%
